On behalf of Arwarbukarl Cultural Resource Association Inc (ACRA), I would like to invite you to participate in the "Puliima 2009 National Indigenous Languages Information Communication Technology Forum" to be held in Melbourne, VIC on the 1st & 2nd of April 2009. Since the first forum was such a success we have decided to continue with the theme "Modern Ways for Ancient Words."
Over the past two years there has been many advancements in the use of Information Technology and the ways in which it can support the revitalisation and reclamation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages. This year we aim to showcase, through demonstrations, presentations and hands-on workshops, an expo of technology which all has the potential to assist Indigenous Language programs. The content may range from the use of basic equipment such as audio and video recorders, to computer based programs that support the teaching of languages and the production of resources. Our goal is to create a learning environment that not only exposes language workers to the various ICT support available to them, but also provides them with skills that will enable them to forge ahead in their language reclamation work.
We are thrilled to be hosting Puliima once again and we encourage you to participate and explore the ways in which technology can support your current language revitilisation endeavours.
