Passing judgement about a person because of the colour of their skin makes a mockery of the Australian idiom of "a fair go for all".

On the Occasion of National Sorry Day 26 May 1998 - `Bringing them home', the report of the experiences of Aboriginal families torn apart by policies of Australian governments shocked the nation when it was released by the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission in May 1997.
As a result, many thousands of Australians have sent their individual messages of sorrow to the Stolen Generation and pledged to work for reconciliation and justice.
