Why Miromaa?

We are an Aboriginal-run not-for-profit organisation. We started in 2002 as a local language program (still active today) and created the Miromaa software platform for revitalising our language, Awabakal. But it didn't take long for other Aboriginal language centres to ask to use it for their language conservation and revitalisation programs. And also wanting our training help. Now, we are here for you - wherever you are on your language journey.

We can help - no matter where you are...

This map shows - by the orange dots - where Miromaa is being used across the world. Since 2008 the Miromaa software platform has been helping to revitalise Indigenous languages throughout Australia and across the world. We are a language centre too. We first created Miromaa to help us save and revitalise our Awabakal language.
