In this exercise you will learn how to export all of your language data from your Miromaa database to allow you to share your work with others in a variety of formats. We are going to go through 8 different formats you can share your work in. This can be very helpful in servicing language requests from schools, community organisations or health centres.

Each of these exports can be done in a matter of minutes!

The formats include:

1. A basic wordlist
   - Language to English

The Word List Export Screen

The wordlist export screen can be found in the main menu under Tools > Wordlists

The Dictionary Export Screen

This screen allows you to package and export your language data to create full colour dictionaries in print and in a interactive format with sound as well as Apps for iOS.

The Miromaa Community Dictionary Maker

The Miromaa software program has for many years helped you share your language in various forms including basic word lists. Until now, to make a picture dictionary or lexicon, Miromaa has packaged your language entries and exported them into other programs like Toolbox, Shoebox, FLEX or Lexique Pro. Now that has all changed with the introduction of the Miromaa Community Dictionary Maker!

The Miromaa Community Dictionary Maker comes as a new feature built right into the Miromaa software program. That means all you need is a valid Miromaa license and the latest version of Miromaa installed on your computer to be able to produce high quality, community dictionaries in just a few clicks.

The MCDM allows you to produce dictionaries based upon categories (such as wildlife, body parts and plants) library items, people, and many other alternatives. If you make a mistake, find a new word or want to reprint for any reason it can all be done right in Miromaa.

Making Apps

This App is derived from the language documentation and digitisation efforts which you do within our Miromaa software program.

It is one of the resources which you can produce from that extensive work alongside of producing a dictionary and other learning resources.

We have developed this App template which is a fantasic environment to introduce and aid the learning of language for people of all ages; children, youth, adults and Elders. The App template can be customised with your chosen opening screen, look and feel with colour selection, your own home screen icon and acknowledgement and credit page. The actual words, images and audio are all entered into Miromaa by you and when you are ready you perform an export out of Miromaa to send to us for App preparation.

You do all of your work within Miromaa, when ready you do an export which will package your data up for us, share with us via dropbox and then we build the app for you.

Unfortunately we only develop for Apple devices at present. We do not have a Android version as of yet. The App is designed for iPhones, iPads and iTouch devices.

It is a simple but powerful learning environment which has been professionally developed in house by our own development team who have brought you the Miromaa software program. The learning environment is based upon the flashcard method of teaching and learning. It is very, very simple to use and extremely powerful.

It is also a very cost effective method for promoting your language and the value of your language to not just your immediate community, but throughout your wider community and the world.
