There is a lot to consider when embarking on your language journey. We understand this from our own experiences and know it can sometimes be overwhelming. With this in mind we have developed a range of brainstorming exercises to help you with your planning.

Miromaa is incredibly powerful and can help make much of this work easier for you. We strongly encourage you to take the time to plot out your course before you start. The worksheets on the following pages consist of these areas of Miromaa work:

1. Existing Documentation
   This is where you look at what work has already been done on your language. Essentially you are asking these questions:
   - What have you got?
   - Where is it?
   
   
2. Gather and Protect
   This is where you make your plan to gather your sources, make decisions around where they will be kept, when and how you will make copies and very importantly your process for backing up your work.
   
   
3. Manage
   This is where you look at how you are setting up the foundations of your work in Miromaa. We can call this the Miromaa House Organisation.
   Getting set up – How many Miromaa liscences will you need? What computers will it be on? How will you share between your team?
   Miromaa House organisation – What is unique about your language? How will you set up your fields and labels? How will you set up your community protcols?
   
   
4. Community Documentation plan
   When you are beginning the community documentation of your language using Miromaa it helps to make a plan which includes:
   - The method you are going to use
   - The equipment and skills you need
   - What sources of the language you are using
   - Which speakers you are going to record
   
   
5. Resources
   An exciting part of your language work is creating and sharing your language in a range of formats. This part of your planning is where you think about the types of resources you want to make from your language documentation and then plan to make them in realistic timeframes.
   
   
6. Team and Support
   This is where you decide the roles each member of your language team will play. It may be that someone is the Miromaa data input person, someone else takes care of the technology and recording and someone else is the speaker, for example an Elder. In this part of your planning you think about who will do what before you get started.
   
   
7. Integrity, values and important things
   This is really important for you to consider. What supports your integrity and what is important for you in this work.
